Eligibility Criteria 2026
Educational Qualification
For every trade code (260101 to 260110), the essential qualification follows the same pattern — any one of the following:
- SSC/10th standard or equivalent with Science subjects, minimum 55% marks, plus an ITI certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade; OR
- SSC/10th standard or equivalent with Science subjects, minimum 55% marks, plus 2 years of full-time experience as an apprentice trainee from a recognised institution in the relevant trade; OR
- SSC/10th standard or equivalent with Science subjects, minimum 55% marks, plus 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade in a Ministry/Department/Organization/PSU/Autonomous Body under the Government of India/State/UT.
The relevant trade for each post code is: COPA (260101), Desktop Publishing Operator (260102), Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance (260103), Medical Lab Technician (260104), Draughtsman-Architecture (260105), Instrument Mechanic (260106), Draughtsman-Mechanical (260107), Draughtsman-Civil (260108), Laboratory Assistant in Chemical Plant (260109), and Interior Designer (260110). Selection Process
Selection for CSIR Technician (1) posts follows a multi-stage process, and the final merit list is prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III:
