| Category | Relaxation |
|---|---|

ECoR Act Apprentice Stipend Details 2026
Selected candidates will be paid a monthly stipend at the prescribed rate during the training period, as per extant rules and directives issued by the Railway Board from time to time. The notification does not specify an exact stipend amount. No hostel accommodation is provided during training — apprentices must make their own arrangements.
Selection Process
Selection for ECoR Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is based solely on a merit list prepared from Matriculation percentage — there is no written test or interview:
- Merit List based on Matriculation percentage (minimum 50% aggregate, all subjects — not "best of five")
- Candidates with CGPA must convert it to the equivalent percentage
- Trade-wise and Community-wise Merit List, followed by Document Verification at ECoR HQ, Bhubaneswar
- Final Selection subject to document verification and Medical Fitness Certificate
- Standby List, issued in strict order of merit as vacancies arise from absentee/unfit/rejected candidates
In case of tied marks, preference goes to the older candidate; if dates of birth are also identical, whoever passed Matriculation earlier is prioritized. Candidates are shortlisted strictly by academic merit and the order of preference of Unit–Department–Trade exercised in their application; once selected against a higher preference, all lower preferences are automatically cancelled. No TA/DA is paid to candidates called for Document Verification.
Candidates who complete apprenticeship training (CCAA) and hold a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) get preference for up to 20% of Level-1 direct-recruitment vacancies in future, subject to RRB/RRC eligibility criteria — this is a separate benefit, not part of this apprentice selection itself.
