Selection Process
NGEL may conduct a multi-stage selection process comprising application shortlisting, a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Group Discussion and/or Interview, or a combination of these.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) — Subject Knowledge Test + Aptitude Test, 100 questions, 2 hours, with negative marking

If a CBT is conducted, the cumulative score is out of 100 — 70 marks for the CBT (Subject Knowledge + Aptitude combined), 10 marks for experience, and 20 marks for interview, with minimum qualifying marks of roughly 40% (UR) / 30% (Reserved) in the CBT sections, 50% in experience, and 40%/30% in interview. If no CBT is conducted, shortlisting is done on age, qualification and experience, followed directly by an interview carrying 70 of the 100 total marks. Joining is subject to passing a medical examination at a specified government hospital.
