Educational Qualification

Selected candidates for Assistant Public Prosecutor will receive a monthly salary as per the Odisha government pay matrix:

Candidates appointed on or after 1 January 2005 are covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme (Odisha Civil Services Pension Amendment Rules, 2005) and are not eligible for pension under the earlier 1992 Pension Rules.

Selection Process

Selection for OPSC APP Recruitment 2026 consists of three stages, conducted at Kataka (Cuttack):

• Preliminary Examination (Objective Type, 100 Marks) — screening only, not counted in final merit
• Main Written Examination (Subjective/Descriptive, 4 papers, 600 Marks)
• Interview / Personality Test (50 Marks)

The Preliminary Examination has negative marking of 25% for each wrong answer, and shortlists candidates for the Main Examination at up to 10 times the vacancies per category. Candidates clearing the Main Written Examination are shortlisted at a ratio of 1:2 for the Interview, and the final Merit List is prepared on combined Main Examination + Interview marks (650 total).

The examination fee is refunded only to candidates who actually appear in the Preliminary Examination, processed after its completion to the original mode of payment.
