Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

• ITI Trade Apprentices: Pass in 10th standard, and pass in ITI (National Trade Certificate – NTC) in any one of the notified trades.
• Technician (Vocational) Apprentices: Pass in Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) in the concerned discipline.

Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in any other organisation, for any duration, under the Apprentices Act, 1961, are not eligible to apply. Applicants with qualifications equivalent to the prescribed qualification must upload an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority; without this certificate their candidature will not be considered.

Domicile Requirement

The applicant shall be a domicile of Kerala. Physical standards are as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and amendments thereof, if any. Reservation is applicable as per Government of India rules.

CSL Apprentice Stipend Details 2026

Selected apprentices, under both the ITI Trade Apprentice and Technician (Vocational) Apprentice categories, will receive a stipend of ₹11,000/- per month during the one-year apprenticeship training period. No travel expenses are admissible for attending certificate verification or during the apprenticeship training period, and boarding/lodging will not be provided by CSL.

Selection Process

Selection to CSL Technician (Vocational)/Trade Apprentice posts is based on shortlisting by merit, followed by certificate verification and medical fitness clearance; there is no written examination specified in the notification.

• Shortlisting: Based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective trade/discipline. In case of a tie, relative merit is decided by seniority in age.
• Intimation: Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through their registered email ID and must appear for certificate verification.
• Certificate Verification: Candidates must produce a signed printout of the application, original certificates (age, qualification, caste, disability if any), and self-attested copies.
