All posts in this notification carry a pay scale of ₹24,280 – ₹72,850 per month. During Institutional Training (Post Codes 21–23 and 25), candidates are eligible for a stipend as fixed by the Government from time to time; regular pay begins after successful completion of training and appointment to the regular post. Employees appointed on or after 1 September 2004 come under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
Selection Process
Selection follows a four-stage process, in sequence:
- Preliminary Written Test (PWT): One paper, 3 hours, 200 objective questions/200 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 30% for OC/EWS, 25% for BC, 20% for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Home Guards. Wrong answers attract 20% negative marking.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Height measurement, followed by a 1600m Run (Men)/800m Run (Women), Long Jump and Shot Put. For Post Codes 21, 26, 27 and 28 the run event is purely qualifying; for Post Codes 22, 23 and 25 it carries marks that feed into the final merit.
- Final Written Examination (FWE): One paper, 3 hours. 200 marks for Post Codes 21, 26, 27 & 28; 100 marks for Post Codes 22, 23 & 25. Minimum qualifying marks: 40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC, 30% for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.
- Certificate Verification: Original documents plus two sets of photocopies are checked; any mismatch with the online application leads to rejection.
For Post Code 21 and 26, final selection is strictly on merit in the Final Written Examination, with 95% of vacancies filled from local candidates of the respective Police District/Commissionerate or District. For Post Codes 22 and 25, final merit combines the Final Written Examination score with normalized Run-event marks. Ties are broken in favour of the candidate born earlier.
Run, Long Jump & Shot Put Qualifying Standards
| Event | Men (General) | Men (Ex-Servicemen) | Women |
|---|---|---|---|
| Run (1600m Men / 800m Women) | Within 7 min 15 sec | Within 9 min 30 sec | Within 5 min 20 sec |
| Long Jump | 4 meters | 3.50 meters | 2.50 meters |
| Shot Put | 6 meters (7.26 kg) | 6 meters (7.26 kg) | 4 meters (4 kg) |

The exact fee amount will be shown on the TSLPRB Online Application portal based on the post(s) selected. OC and BC local candidates pay the standard fee; SC/ST local candidates pay a concessional fee. Candidates applying for more than one post/notification among the group of TSLPRB notifications issued on 29-07-2026 (PC Civil & equivalent, PC Mechanic, PC Driver, SI Civil & equivalent, ASI FPB) get a rebate of ₹50 per additional post for SC/ST local candidates, and ₹100 per additional post for all other candidates, since the common PMT/PET is conducted only once.
